Job summary

Client of Brunel is seeking a senior Coating and Painting Engineer for a contract role in the oil and gas sector in the UAE. You will review specifications, procedures and ITPs for coating activities, ensuring compliance with ISO, AMPP, NACE, SSPC and project requirements.

You will supervise surface preparation, blasting and coating application, verify conditions, inspect thickness and test adhesion/holidays as needed, coordinating with QC and client reps to gain timely approvals.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience, GCC work experience mandatory.
• Valid coating inspection certification such as AMPP/NACE Coating Inspector Level 2 or an equivalent client-approved qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in coating application, inspection, quality control and technical documentation.
• UAE/GCC experience and exposure to ADNOC projects advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, coating systems, technical procedures, method statements and ITPs for painting and coating activities.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, AMPP, NACE, SSPC and project-specific requirements.
• Supervise surface preparation, abrasive blasting, power-tool cleaning and coating application.
• Verify environmental conditions before and during coating operations.
• Inspect surface cleanliness, profile, contaminants, paint mixing and application parameters.
• Monitor coating thickness using DFT measurements and verify acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate inspection activities including holiday testing and adhesion testing as required.
• Review MSDS, batch certificates, shelf life and storage conditions.
• Coordinate with QC, Construction, Procurement, subcontractors and client representatives for approvals.
