Job summary

ABU ALI is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable cloud platforms and internal infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with Software Engineering, DevOps, Security and IT to improve reliability, automation, deployment efficiency, and developer experience.

The role involves managing multi-cloud/hybrid environments, implementing IaC, and leading CI/CD initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience in Platform/Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE or Infrastructure roles.
• Strong experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture, networking, compute, storage, databases and security services.
• Hands-on with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or equivalent.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm or similar container tech.
• Strong Linux/system administration knowledge.
• Networking knowledge: DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, load balancing, firewalls, VPNs, routing.
• Observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry, Datadog; scripting in Python/Bash/Go.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud platforms and infrastructure environments.
• Develop reliable and secure platform services for application and engineering teams.
• Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or hybrid setups.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and automation for provisioning and deployments.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure releases.
• Operate and secure container platforms with Kubernetes and related tooling.
• Establish platform standards and best practices for reliability and efficiency.
• Monitor availability, performance, and resource usage; troubleshoot issues.
• Develop self-service tools to empower engineering teams.
• Support cloud migrations, modernization, and cost-optimization efforts.
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce cloud security controls.
