Job summary
Penspen is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Construction (Civil) for a site-based role in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to lead onshore pipeline construction activities in the oil & gas sector. The role emphasizes planning, execution, safety, and cost control in line with project requirements.
The candidate should have a Civil Engineering degree and 15+ years of relevant GCC oil & gas experience, including EPC/EPCM environments and strong HSE knowledge. Leadership and coordination are essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- 15+ years of relevant oil & gas experience
- 5 years in GCC region
- 5 years in similar position
- Extensive experience in Oil & Gas pipeline Civil & Structural projects
- Strong knowledge of pipeline installation, welding, testing, and commissioning
- Experience in EPC/EPCM project environments
- In-depth understanding of HSE requirements and industry codes/standards
- Proven leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage civil & structural construction activities
- Develop construction methodologies, work packs, and schedules
- Supervise contractors and construction teams to ensure safe execution
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, project specifications, and codes
- Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, commissioning, and project teams
- Monitor construction progress, productivity, and reporting
- Support constructability reviews and resolve site construction issues
- Interface with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
