Job summary

SearchPlus HR is recruiting an experienced Consultant Cardiac Anaesthetist for a leading UAE healthcare facility. The successful candidate will deliver advanced anaesthesia and perioperative management for complex cardiac and cardiothoracic surgeries, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care.

The role requires South African Fellowship in Anaesthesiology or equivalent, MBChB/MBBS, extensive cardiac anaesthesia experience, and UAE licensing eligibility.

Qualifications

• MBChB / MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
• South African Fellowship in Anaesthesiology (FC Anaes SA) or equivalent recognized specialist qualification.
• Advanced training and substantial clinical experience in Cardiac Anaesthesia.
• Relevant consultant-level clinical experience.
• Current or previous registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing under the applicable UAE healthcare authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist anaesthesia services for complex cardiac and cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
• Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments and develop individualized anaesthesia plans.
• Administer and manage general anaesthesia and advanced cardiac anaesthesia techniques.
• Manage anaesthesia for CABG, valve replacement, and other major cardiac surgeries.
• Perform and interpret invasive haemodynamic monitoring and TOE/TEE where credentialed.
• Manage patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass and other complex cardiac interventions.
• Maintain intraoperative cardiovascular stability and manage critical haemodynamic complications.
• Coordinate with cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide postoperative anaesthesia care and support management of patients in cardiac ICUs.
• Manage perioperative complications, emergencies, and high-risk cardiac patients.
• Provide effective postoperative pain management and recovery planning.
• Ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
• Participate in audits, meetings, and quality improvement programmes.
• Provide supervision, guidance, and mentorship to junior anaesthetists and medical staff.

Education

MBChB / MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
