Job summary

Black & Grey HR is partnering with a UAE-based construction and infrastructure company to hire a Senior CAD Operator – Fit-Out & Joinery. You will produce precise CAD drawings for fit-out and joinery projects, translating design concepts into fabrication drawings and coordinating with designers, engineers and site teams.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and knowledge of joinery detailing, materials and construction methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a CAD Operator/Draftsman in fit-out industry.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Knowledge of joinery detailing, materials, hardware, and fabrication methods.
• Experience preparing shop drawings and fabrication drawings for joinery and interior works.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D CAD drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings for fit-out and joinery works.
• Develop detailed drawings for custom joinery, furniture, cabinetry, doors, wall panels, ceilings, partitions, counters, and other interior elements.
• Interpret architectural, interior design, structural, and MEP drawings and incorporate requirements into CAD drawings.
• Prepare detailed sections, elevations, plans, details, and joinery construction drawings.
• Coordinate drawings with designers, architects, engineers, site teams, subcontractors, and joinery production teams.

Black & Grey HR is partnering with one of the UAE’s established construction and infrastructure companies to hire a Senior CAD Operator – Fit-Out & Joinery. The Senior CAD Operator will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed CAD drawings for fit-out and joinery projects, translating design concepts and technical requirements into precise construction and fabrication drawings. The role requires strong knowledge of joinery detailing, fit-out construction, materials, and site coordination, with the ability to work closely with designers, engineers, project teams, and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D CAD drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings for fit-out and joinery works.
• Develop detailed drawings for custom joinery, furniture, cabinetry, doors, wall panels, ceilings, partitions, counters, and other interior elements.
• Interpret architectural, interior design, structural, and MEP drawings and incorporate relevant requirements into CAD drawings.
• Prepare detailed sections, elevations, plans, details, and joinery construction drawings.
• Ensure drawings accurately reflect dimensions, materials, finishes, hardware, fixing methods, and construction requirements.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and compliance with project specifications.
• Coordinate drawings with designers, architects, engineers, site teams, subcontractors, and joinery production teams.
• Incorporate consultant/client comments and revise drawings accordingly.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on site conditions and approved changes.
• Maintain proper drawing standards, numbering, revisions, and document control.
• Support the project team with technical clarifications and drawing-related requirements.
• Conduct site visits where required to verify dimensions and existing conditions.
• Ensure all drawings are issued within agreed project schedules and deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a CAD Operator/Draftsman, within fit-out industry.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of joinery detailing, fit-out construction, materials, hardware, and fabrication methods.
• Experience preparing shop drawings and fabrication drawings for joinery and interior works.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, sections, elevations, and construction details.
• Experience working with UAE/GCC construction standards and project requirements is preferred.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD/Revit/SketchUp will be an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight project deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
