Job summary

Tetrix in New York City and Montreal is seeking an experienced backend engineer to own the data-heavy backend of our AI-native platform. You will build scalable Python services, APIs, and ingestion pipelines that turn private market data into real-time insights for institutional investors.

You’ll collaborate with product and clients, shape technical direction, and mentor teammates while maintaining security and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building scalable services or production systems.
• Strong experience with asynchronous Python, APIs, and data-heavy workloads.
• Experience in fast-paced or entrepreneurial environments is a plus.

What you’ll do

• You’ll build – data models, core backend infrastructure and services, as well as ship out new features, in Python - owning scalable APIs, robust data ingestion pipelines that pull documents from dozens of private market portals, event‑driven processing systems, and integrations that feed our proprietary AI extraction engine.
• You’ll brainstorm – We’re not looking for someone to just take tickets—we want you in the room helping us shape product direction and tech strategy.
• You’ll work with clients – From pitching customers, to designing features, to soliciting feedback, you’ll do some non‑engineering work. We believe in all‑rounded team members.
• You’ll champion best practices and guide others – As a B2B SaaS platform, our technology needs to be secure, robust and scalable. You’ll help set and maintain standards and mentor future team members.
