Job summary

Frey Consulting Group is seeking a Backend Engineer in Dubai (on-site) or Europe (remote) to build and maintain reliable backend services with TypeScript. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to translate complex requirements into secure, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities include designing APIs, data models, and secure data handling, plus building integrations with financial providers and maintaining tests, docs, and observability.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience in production environments.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js programming skills.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Understanding authentication, authorization, and secure coding.
• Experience with automated testing, Git, and collaborative workflows.
• Ai coding assistants usage with critical review of AI-generated code.
• Ability to investigate production issues and make solid decisions.
• On-site in Dubai or remote from Europe.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Build APIs and integrations with external platforms and financial providers.
• Design data models and optimize SQL queries for performance and reliability.
• Implement asynchronous workflows, background jobs, and error handling.
• Ensure secure handling of sensitive data and transactions.
• Write automated tests, review code, and maintain docs.
• Monitor production services, troubleshoot, and improve observability.
• Collaborate with product and compliance teams to translate requirements into solutions.
