Placino is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own the clean-room query engine where SQL interfaces with secure multi-party computation and differential privacy. You will shape distributed query processing across multiple parties, ensuring cryptographic rigor and auditable privacy controls.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years building production distributed systems in Go, Rust, C++, or Java/Scala, with hands-on experience in database internals or distributed query engines.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building production distributed systems in Go, Rust, C++, or modern Java/Scala.
• Hands-on with database internals OR distributed query engines.
• Familiarity with privacy-enhancing tech: differential privacy, MPC, ZK proofs, or HE.

Responsibilities

• Work on the clean-room query engine focusing on correctness, performance, and cryptographic discipline.
• Implement query planning, privacy budgets, and audit trails for GDPR/HIPAA/ISO controls.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure robust, auditable privacy-preserving analytics.
