Job summary

Dizzaract Games is seeking a Senior Backend + DevOps Engineer to design robust backend services, own infrastructure lifecycles, and secure live gaming platforms. Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience, with senior level exposure.
• Strong experience with TypeScript and the Node.js ecosystem (NestJS, Express, or Fastify).
• Mandatory DevOps experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB).
• Understanding of distributed systems and event‑driven architectures.
• Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
• RESTful API design experience; GraphQL is a plus.
• English level: Upper-Intermediate (B2+) or higher.

Responsibilities

02. ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Senior Backend + DevOps Engineer to build, scale, and secure the core systems behind our gaming platform and live services. This is a dual-focused role where you will not only design robust application architecture but also own the infrastructure lifecycle—from CI/CD pipelines to cloud orchestration.

This is a hands‑on engineering role where you will design architecture, implement features, and work on systems that directly impact hundreds of thousands of users. You’ll be working across distributed systems, real‑time data, and high‑load environments — in close collaboration with frontend, game, and product teams.

03. WHO YOU ARE

• Senior Engineer with Strong Fundamentals: You have a minimum of 5+ years of experience building and maintaining scalable backend systems and have held a Senior-level role previously.
• DevOps Mindset: You treat infrastructure as code. You are mandatory in DevOps practices, with hands‑on experience managing cloud environments, Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD automation.
• Systems Thinker: You understand distributed systems, event‑driven architecture, and how to design for scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Execution‑Focused: You’re comfortable owning features and infrastructure end‑to‑end — from design and deployment to monitoring and optimisation.
• Collaborative Builder: You work well across teams and can align with frontend, game, and infrastructure engineers to deliver cohesive systems.

04. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable server‑side applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS .
• Architecture & Systems Design: Contribute to system architecture, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
• Infrastructure & DevOps (Mandatory):
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).
  • Manage and scale Kubernetes clusters and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Implement infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK).
• Data & Storage: Design and optimise databases (SQL and NoSQL), ensuring efficiency and reliability.
• Integrations & APIs: Develop and maintain integrations with internal services, external APIs, and microservices.
• Observability & Reliability: Implement logging, monitoring, telemetry, and fault‑tolerant systems (retries, error handling).
• Collaboration: Work closely with frontend, game, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless system integration.
• Engineering Process: Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning.

05. REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of backend development experience, with prior experience in a Senior role .
• Mandatory: Strong experience with TypeScript and the Node.js ecosystem (NestJS, Express, or Fastify).
• Mandatory DevOps: Proven experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines . (AWS/GCP/Azure experience is a plus).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB).
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and event‑driven architectures.
• Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design (GraphQL is a plus).
• Experience working in high‑load or real‑time systems is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in fast‑paced environments.
