Job summary

LevelUP HCS in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Systems Engineer - Avionics Software Development to lead the design, development, integration, and verification of mission-critical software for advanced UAV platforms.

You’ll define requirements, design real-time architectures, and implement embedded avionics software in C/C++, while coordinating with systems, hardware, test, and cybersecurity teams for robust, certifiable UAV solutions.

Qualifications

• Define software requirements and real-time avionics architectures.
• Experience in safety-critical aerospace or UAV software.
• Knowledge of DO-178C/ED-12C and certification practices.
• Experience with embedded systems cybersecurity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage avionics software requirements aligned to safety and certification goals.
• Design robust real-time software architectures for flight control, navigation, and sensor systems.
• Develop embedded avionics software using C/C++ and relevant frameworks.
• Integrate and test software using simulations, test benches, and HIL platforms.
• Lead verification and validation across unit, integration, and system levels.
• Prepare certification documentation and contribute to design reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement.
