Job summary

BDO International in UAE is seeking a Senior Associate in Assurance Services with Arabic language skills to lead external audits in line with BDO methodology and IFRS, based in Abu Dhabi. • 3+ years of post-qualification experience in auditing.
• Degree in Business, Accounting or related field.
• Successful record of engagement management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform external audit of clients as per BDO audit methodology and ensure qualitative documentation.
• Assist in preparation or review of financial statements as per IFRS.
• Manage audit engagements including project plan, client communications, and timely deliverables.
• Identify audit and accounting issues and propose resolutions with the team and client.
• Prepare reports and communicate findings, presenting to Audit Committee/BOD/TCWG.
• Follow client needs and propose relevant services and solutions to add value.
• Provide exceptional client service and ensure timely delivery.
• Stay updated on local regulations, IFRS changes, and audit methodology developments.

Your opportunity

• Responsible to lead and perform external audit of clients as per BDO audit methodology and ensuring a qualitative documentation.
• Responsible to assist the client in preparation or review of financial statements of the allocated assignments as per the International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Responsible for the overall project management of the audit engagement such as preparation of project plan, timely engagement with client and effective turnaround of audit deliverables.
• Identify and discuss audit & accounting issues on a timely basis with the audit engagement team and the client along with proposing proper resolution of these matters.
• Prepare reports and communicate findings and recommendations to the client and agree with them. Develop strengths to present to the Audit Committee/BOD/TCWG.
• Follow the evolution of the client’s needs, commercial focus and business objectives, and timely anticipate issues and questions. Propose relevant services and solutions to provide value addition.
• Provide exceptional client service by understanding the client's requirement in detail and ensuring timely delivery.
• Ensure continuous professional development by updating oneself on local regulations, International Financial Reporting Standards, any changes to audit methodology etc. and discussing any such changes with the clients proactively.

Key attributes

• 3+ years of post-qualification experience in auditing, with leading professional services firms or large multinational organizations and systems
• Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
• Successful record of engagement management
• Fluent in English (Reading, Speaking and Writing)
• CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent is must
