Job summary

A leading recruitment firm in Dubai is seeking a Senior Associate in Accounting & Reporting to join their EMEA Reporting & Compliance Team. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, have 5+ years of professional experience, and be fluent in Arabic and English. Responsibilities include overseeing financial statements, supervising junior staff, and ensuring compliance with tax obligations. This is an independent contractor role for a minimum of 6 months, potentially extending to 2 years.

Our client, one of the worlds leading Internet Marketplace Platform companies, is currently hiring for a Senior Associate, Accounting & Reporting to join their EMEA Reporting & Compliance Team.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the timely preparation and availability of financial statements to ensure compliance with CIT return deadlines.
  • Supervise and ensure the accuracy of journal postings, particularly those handled by junior staff.
  • Facilitate the provision of accurate and timely data for transfer pricing local files
  • Address discrepancies in intercompany transactions between GLs and issued invoices, ensuring proper documentation and booking.
  • Establish and enforce controls over journal entry postings, ensuring data provided to the team is thoroughly reviewed by senior accounting staff.
  • Develop and maintain a calendar for ongoing audits of financial statements, including expected timelines for audit report availability.
  • Take ownership of all accounting journals, including those related to tax, ensuring alignment with the tax team before postings are made.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the accounting team and the tax teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA / CA / ACCA / equivalent qualification preferred
  • Fluent in Arabic and English
  • 5+ years relevant professional experience
  • A strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, principles and tax
  • Team player, have ability to work independently and willingness to take on challenges
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate key information and status to stakeholders
  • Ability to interact with all departments and levels throughout our organisation
  • Excellent project and time management skills, ability to prioritise and multitask
  • Experience with Oracle R12 or another large scale ERP is preferred

This is an immediate start contract position for a minimum period of 6 months, which may extend up to 2 years.

This is an Independent contractor engagement and you would be responsible for paying all necessary taxes in-country.
