Qualifications

Responsibilities

SENIOR ARCHITECT - INTERIOR DESIGN

Location: Dubai, UAE

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a talented, experienced Senior Architect with interior design expertise to lead and coordinate architectural and interior design development for high-end residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use projects. The role involves overseeing architectural design from concept development through detailed design and execution, ensuring seamless integration of architectural elements, interior spaces, materials, finishes and building systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams to deliver innovative, functional, aesthetically refined, and technically compliant design solutions while maintaining design integrity, project budgets, timelines, and quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lead architectural design development from concept to completion for luxury residential, commercial, hospitality and mixed-use projects.
2. Oversee the preparation and review of architectural drawings, design presentations, detailed construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
3. Integrate architectural design with interior design concepts, including space planning, layouts, materials, finishes, lighting, furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E).
4. Coordinate with interior designers, structural engineers, MEP consultants, landscape architects and other project stakeholders to ensure design consistency and technical integration.
5. Develop and review architectural concepts, space planning, elevations, sections, façade treatments and detailed design proposals.
6. Ensure architectural and interior design solutions meet project briefs, client expectations, brand standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
7. Review interior design packages, material boards, finish schedules, joinery details, ceiling layouts, flooring patterns and interior elevations.
8. Manage and coordinate external architectural and interior design consultants to ensure timely delivery and compliance with project requirements.
9. Review and approve architectural drawings, interior design documentation, material samples, shop drawings, mock-ups and technical submissions.
10. Conduct site inspections and design reviews to ensure construction and interior fit-out works comply with approved drawings, specifications and design intent.
11. Coordinate with contractors and site teams to resolve architectural, interior design, and technical issues during project execution.
12. Support procurement activities through material specifications, technical evaluations, vendor coordination and review of alternative design proposals.
13. Participate in value engineering exercises to optimise design solutions and project costs without compromising functionality, aesthetics or quality.
14. Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, accessibility requirements, building codes, sustainability standards and other applicable regulations.
15. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, monitoring design deliverables, project schedules, budgets and quality standards.
16. Collaborate with development, project management, construction, leasing and marketing teams to align architectural and interior design objectives.
17. Stay updated on architectural innovations, interior design trends, sustainable materials, construction technologies and industry best practices.
18. Prepare design progress reports, technical presentations, project documentation and recommendations for senior management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Minimum 12-15 years of relevant experience in architectural design, with strong exposure to interior design and high-end residential, commercial, hospitality or mixed-use developments.
• Proven experience in leading architectural design projects from concept development through detailed design, construction and handover.
• Strong understanding of interior design principles, space planning, materials, finishes, lighting, joinery, FF&E and interior fit-out coordination.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate architectural, interior design, structural and MEP requirements.
• Experience working with luxury real estate developers, architectural consultancies or design-and-build organisations is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of architectural detailing, construction methods, technical drawings, specifications and design documentation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other relevant architectural or visualisation software; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is an advantage.
• Good understanding of UAE building regulations, Dubai Municipality requirements, Civil Defence standards and relevant approval processes.
• Proven ability to manage design consultants, multidisciplinary teams, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Strong project management, coordination, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation and client management abilities.
• Ability to manage project timelines, design budgets and multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong attention to detail, design quality, functionality and technical accuracy.
• Professional registration or relevant architectural certification is an advantage.
