Job summary

DISCOVERED in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Application Support Engineer to provide expert-level support for mission-critical financial applications. You will own troubleshooting, incident resolution, and system optimisation across the organisation.

The role requires 6–8 years in finance tech, strong communication skills, and proficiency in automation and security best practices. This is a technical, ownership-driven position in a major exchange environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field.
• 6–8 years of experience in a Securities/Stock Exchange or financial institution environment.
• Certifications in Azure, AWS, Sitecore Next.js, Microsoft CRM D365, or Software AG preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of application architecture, databases, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Scripting languages and automation tools experience.
• Strong communicator who can engage across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive, analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for complex applications to minimize downtime.
• Lead incident identification, root cause analysis, and resolution within SLA.
• Monitor core applications and perform performance tuning.
• Maintain detailed configs, SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
• Install and upgrade software; automate processes for system efficiency.
• Lead backup operations and ensure disaster recovery procedures.
• Engage with end-users, internal teams, vendors and auditors as technical POC.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
