Job summary

PulseHire HR Middle East is recruiting a Consultant Anesthesiologist for a JCI-accredited hospital in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will lead perioperative anesthesia, administer all anesthesia modalities, and ensure patient safety in a high-standard medical network.

The role requires international credentials, extensive perioperative experience, and strong leadership. Relocation and licensing support are available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• MBBS/MD degree required
• Postgraduate qualification in Anesthesiology required
• Board certification or equivalent consultant-level qualification required
• Internationally recognized specialist qualifications desirable
• 5-10 years post-specialization experience preferred
• Expertise in general, regional, and perioperative anesthesia and advanced airway management
• Experience in internationally accredited hospitals or tertiary-care centers desirable
• Eligible for DOH Consultant Anesthesiology license in Abu Dhabi
• Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pre-anesthetic assessment and perioperative management
• Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia per plan
• Conduct pre-operative evaluations including medical history and risk assessment
• Develop individualized anesthesia plans based on patient and surgical factors
• Perform advanced airway management and difficult airway interventions
• Manage anesthesia for complex surgeries across specialties
• Perform regional anesthesia techniques (spinal, epidural, ultrasound-guided)
• Maintain cardiovascular and respiratory stability during procedures
• Identify and manage intraoperative complications
• Provide anesthesia and sedation for diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Oversee PACU recovery and post-operative pain management
• Participate in emergency resuscitation and multidisciplinary response
• Implement evidence-based anesthesia protocols and safety standards
• Collaborate with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams
• Supervise and mentor anesthesia staff
• Counsel patients on anesthesia options and risks
• Maintain accurate documentation and DOH/JCI compliance
• Participate in audits, quality improvement, teaching and CME
