Job summary

GAL in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Workshop Manager to lead maintenance operations for rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. You will oversee personnel, equipment, and facilities, and coordinate across departments to ensure readiness and regulatory compliance.

You will develop procedures, supervise inspections and repairs, track performance, manage inventory, and prepare weekly reports. A background in aviation maintenance, FAA A&P or equivalent, and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Aviation or Engineering (FAA A&P or equivalent preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of aviation maintenance experience, with at least 7 years in management roles.
• Experience in rotary and fixed-wing platforms preferred.
• Familiarity with TAMMS or similar maintenance management systems.
• Strong knowledge of military or regulated aviation environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage personnel, equipment, and facilities involved in aircraft workshop maintenance.
• Develop and implement operating procedures aligned with industry and regulatory standards.
• Ensure compliance with OEM, military, and local safety directives and maintenance manuals.
• Supervise maintenance activities including inspections, repairs, and technical assessments.
• Monitor workshop performance, track maintenance trends, and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate parts, tools, and equipment requirements with logistics teams.
• Maintain accountability for workshop inventory and tooling.
• Oversee reporting, documentation, and communication with senior management.
• Identify training gaps and recommend corrective actions to build team capability.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on operational status and performance.
