Job summary

UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) seeks an experienced ATCO to manage and control air traffic within the UAE FIR, ensuring safety and efficiency. You will coordinate with external agencies, participate in simulations, and support the development of procedures and airspace changes.

The role requires maintaining ICAO docs, an ATC license, and a medical certificate. The position emphasizes high workload management, compliance with IMS standards, and staff development through on-the-job

Qualifications

• Valid Area and/or Approach Radar Control License issued by an ICAO state or recognized organization.
• Valid ATC medical certificate.
• ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or above.

Responsibilities

• Manage and control air traffic within UAE FIR safely.
• Manage air traffic flow to avoid congestion in or beyond UAE FIR.
• Communicate instructions to pilots clearly.
• Coordinate with external agencies as required in a timely manner.
• Participate on an ad hoc basis in simulation exercises and development of procedures and airspace restructuring.
• Participate on an ad hoc basis in configuration testing and commissioning of new or upgraded ATC systems.
• Perform other duties related to ANS commensurate with position.
• Complete competency examinations and maintain knowledge of ICAO docs and UAE AIP.
• Train trainee ATCOs and assess progress with management.
• Prepare functional reports meeting GCAA requirements and quality standards.
