Job summary

YallaPlay in the UAE is seeking a Senior Game Prototype Engineer to independently design and build game prototypes from A to Z. You will sit at the intersection of game design, frontend, backend, and UI/UX, turning initial concepts into playable experiences.

You will define core gameplay, create or source assets, build client and supporting systems, and run rapid playtests with AI-assisted tools. This role is remote-friendly with an option to work from Yas Island, Abu Dhabi offices, offering a

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional game development experience, or an exceptional portfolio.
• Portfolio of at least 5 playable games or prototypes with ownership.
• Ability to independently take a game concept from idea to a complete playable prototype.
• Strong game-design instincts: mechanics, rules, pacing, player flows, feedback, and game feel.
• Strong programming fundamentals across frontend, game logic, and lightweight backend systems.
• Ability to create mobile-friendly UI/UX without dedicated designers.
• Experience with AI coding agents as part of your workflow.
• Experience using AI-generated or placeholder assets.

Responsibilities

• Take game ideas from concept to complete playable prototype.
• Define and iterate core game mechanics, rules, flows, and gameplay experience.
• Design and implement clear UI/UX for players.
• Build frontend, game logic, bots, backend, and multiplayer features for prototypes.
• Use AI-generated or placeholder assets to create a complete prototype.
• Scope ideas to testable versions and focus on essential features.
• Own the prototype loop end to end from hypothesis to playtests and learnings.
• Utilize AI coding agents to accelerate development.
• Instrument prototypes with lightweight analytics to inform decisions.
• Iterate rapidly based on playtests and feedback.
• Package protype learnings for handoff to production teams.
