Job summary

IdeaCrate in Abu Dhabi is seeking a hands-on software engineer to own the design, development, integration and deployment of secure, scalable software and AI-enabled business applications. You will translate business requirements into reliable products with a startup‑oriented approach.

Responsibilities include building backend services with Python and Rust, designing APIs and databases, managing the full lifecycle from design to deployment, and ensuring security, observability and performance.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong production Python skills and practical Rust development experience.
• Delivery of AI applications across development, evaluation, deployment and monitoring.
• Experience with mobile application backends, APIs, ERP/CRM integrations and relational databases.
• Startup/scale-up product ownership experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, Git, CI/CD, containers, testing and secure engineering practices.
• Excellent English communication and technical documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, integration, deployment and improvement of secure, scalable software and AI-enabled business applications.
• Design backend services, APIs, databases and scalable architecture; own code reviews, testing, security and performance.
• Manage the software development lifecycle from requirements and design through CI/CD, deployment, monitoring and maintenance.
• Build and integrate AI-enabled features, LLM applications, intelligent workflows and automation.
• Develop backend services supporting mobile applications, including authentication, notifications and integrations.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications, milestones and MVPs; coordinate with stakeholders.
• Produce architecture diagrams, API documentation, release notes, runbooks and handover materials.
