Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support management with accurate financial reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate must possess strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and proficiency in Altavista Accounting Software.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements.
• Manage the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and revenue to ensure financial stability.

Accounts Management

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer accounts regularly.
• Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance against budget and report variances.
• Provide financial insights to support business planning and decision-making.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
• Prepare and coordinate audits with external auditors.
• Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure accurate VAT preparation, filing, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Payroll & Financial Administration

• Review payroll calculations and ensure accurate salary processing.
• Monitor employee-related financial transactions and benefits.

Software & System Management

• Utilize Altavista Accounting Software for financial transactions, reporting, and account management.
• Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of accounting records within the system.
• Generate financial reports and perform reconciliations using Altavista.
• Support system improvements and provide guidance to users when required.

Team Support

• Assist and guide junior accounting staff.
• Coordinate with department heads regarding financial matters and budget requirements.
• Support management with financial information and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in accounting and finance.
• Experience in a senior accounting role is preferred.
• Experience within retail, beauty, hospitality, or service industries is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Altavista Accounting Software.
