Job summary

Expertise Recruitment in Dubai seeks aSenior Accountant to manage financial reporting, controls and month-end closings in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a strong grasp of GAAP and UAE tax rules, with 4+ years of accounting experience and at least 2 years in a senior capacity.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with MBA/CPA/CA being a plus. Knowledge of UAE/KSA accounting and tax is advantageous, and prior law-firm experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• MBA or CPA/CA is a plus and advantageous.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with law firm experience.
• At least 2 years in a Senior Accountant role.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enforce accounting standards, internal controls, financial transactions, and procedures.
• Coordinate accounting functions and ensure accurate and timely processing.
• Record journal entries, accruals, and period-end closings.
• Prepare vendor payments and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and GL accounts.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting (P&L, balance sheets).
• Assist with annual audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
• Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and compliance issues.
• Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with tax requirements.
• Contribute to development/improvement of accounting systems and procedures.
• Provide support and guidance to junior accounting staff.
• Perform other accounting duties as required.
