Job summary

NOVOTEL in Dubai seeks a proactive Security Officer/Manager to oversee hotel security operations, train officers, and ensure compliance with safety procedures. You will conduct patrols, investigations, and daily reporting while coordinating with management on security matters.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Prior experience in hotel security and relevant licenses are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• SIRA Security Manager License required.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train Security Officers in surveillance equipment operation and reporting.
• Conduct patrols and checks to ensure alertness and duty completion.
• Investigate incidents and prepare reports with accompanying papers.
• Monitor and supervise staff movements and enforce house rules.
• Provide security coverage for VIP guests and be on-call for emergencies.
• Record all activities in the Daily Security Report and maintain security logs.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities

Security OperationTrain Security Officers in the operation of surveillance equipment written reports record keeping patrol and first aid proceduresDisseminate all information by the Management to team membersConduct patrols and regular checks on all Security Officers to assure that they are alert and discharging their duties efficiently and effectivelyConduct all criminal investigations put up accompanying investigation papers and reports cases which occur within the HotelConduct surveillance on hotel staff to ensure that they abide by the House Rules Keep tag on movements of staff who are classified as suspects under investigationsControl and direct all emergency personnel traffic in response to fire bomb threat police assistance injury or illnessInspect all Security equipment to ensure that they are in working order and that all cameras are correctly focusedConduct routine day-to-day checks of the following items to ensure that they are properly maintained issued and accounted for Pocket books Security Desk Occurrence Book Gate Passes and Security Passes Keys and Key Registers Post allocation for hotel and External SecurityCultivate Informers with the intention of obtaining information of security interest that may be of immediate or future use to the Department for prevention and detection purposesRecord all activities involving the Department in the Daily Security ReportProvide security coverage for VIP guestsAlways be on-call including off-duty hours for any emergency that may ariseTeam ManagementConduct performance review with the teamIdentify and develop team members with potentialConstantly monitor team members appearance attitude and degree of professionalismConduct detailed induction programs for new employeesDevelop conduct maintain all staff training programs for team members focusing on their development needs providing them with new skills to meet the changing needs of the businessPrepare weekly staff schedules keeping in mind anticipated business operating budgets and standards of service

Other Responsibilities

Be fully conversant with hotel fire amp life safety emergency proceduresComply with hotel and department policies and procedures at all timesAttend all briefings meetings and trainings as assigned by managementReport for duty on time wearing clean and complete uniform at all timesMaintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all timesPerform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel

Secondary / High school education

Certificates in SIRA - Security Manger License/ National Skills Recognition System, CPR, First Aid Management and Basic Fire FightingMinimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar capacityGood reading, writing and oral proficiency in English languageNo criminal record
