Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Security Barrier Technician to perform maintenance, inspection and operation of barrier equipment supporting airfield operations, base facilities and security posts in Abu Dhabi. You will install, calibrate, troubleshoot and service barriers, maintain preventive maintenance schedules and ensure environmental compliance in handling hazardous materials.

Qualified candidates will have at least five years’ experience in security barriers, be fluent in English, and able to obtain

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience in the security barrier field.
• Experience with IP5000, MP-5000, and B1310 barriers, tiger teeth, and manual sliding arms.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Fluent reading, writing, speaking and understanding of English.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance (US citizenship required).
• Valid state driver license and qualification to operate government vehicles.
• Experience communicating with Government or military personnel.
• Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Responsibilities

• Inspect moving parts for wear and repair or replace.
• Inspect electrical wiring for wear and repair or replace.
• Inspect batteries for voltage and repair or replace.
• Inspect hydraulic systems for wear, leaks and fluid level per specs.
• Inspect lights for proper operation and repair or replace.
• Inspect barrier operation and verify normal up/down movement.
• Coordinate emergency operation with COR when applicable.
• Follow government processes for parts requisitions and reporting.

Purpose and Scope

The purpose of this position is to perform the full range of inspections, maintenance, repair and operation of all assigned security barrier equipment that physically supports airfield operations, base facilities and security posts.

Essential Responsibilities

Maintain and adhere to applicable technical orders and good commercial practices for all maintenance actions, including:

• Ordering parts
• Installing, programming, calibrating, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing barriers and operational systems
• Executing recurring scheduled preventive maintenance and non‑recurring maintenance as required
• Managing hazardous materials and waste and ensuring environmental compliance in their handling and disposal
• Executing complete replacement of barrier systems when necessary
• Recording maintenance activities and analyzing records to correct non‑optimal practices and conditions
• Issuing reports to site management and monitoring warranties
• Conducting periodic operation and inspection of idle equipment
• Performing preservation, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of equipment as field intermediate‑level maintenance actions
• Processing all parts requisitions through government established processes

Principal Accountabilities

• Inspect all moving parts for wear or excessive wear and repair or replace as necessary
• Inspect all electrical wiring for wear and repair or replace as necessary
• Inspect batteries for proper voltage per manufacturer specifications and repair or replace as necessary
• Inspect hydraulic systems for wear, leaks, and proper fluid level per manufacturer specifications and repair or replace as necessary
• Inspect lights for proper operation per manufacturer specifications and repair or replace as necessary
• Inspect barrier operation and repair as necessary; verify normal operation up and down
• When applicable, perform emergency operation (immediate up) after coordination with COR

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Minimum five (2) years’ experience in the security barrier field
• Experience and proficiency working with IP5000, MP‑5000, and B1310 barriers, tiger teeth, and manual sliding arms
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Fluent reading, writing, speaking and understanding of English
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance (US citizenship required)
• Valid state driver license and qualification to operate government general‑purpose vehicles
• Experience communicating with Government or military personnel
• Perform all other position‑related duties as assigned or requested
