Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Science Teacher to join a respected school in Al Ain UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality Science lessons to students in Cycle 2 and Cycle 3 ensuring that the curriculum is followed effectively and educational standards are maintained. This is a temporary position with the possibility of extension based on the school’s needs.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field.
  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE QTS or equivalent) is preferred.
  • ADEK Appointment letter is required.
  • IELTS 7.0 Band minimum.

Experience:

  • At least 35 years of experience teaching Science at the middle and secondary school levels (Grades 6–12).
  • Experience teaching in the UAE or GCC region is a plus but not mandatory.

Skills:

  • In‑depth knowledge of the Science curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to plan, organize and deliver engaging lessons.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools for teaching and assessments.
  • Strong classroom management skills to create a productive and respectful learning environment.
Key Responsibilities

Lesson Planning and Delivery:

  • Design and deliver interactive and engaging Science lessons focusing on subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Science.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods including group discussions, multimedia resources and hands‑on experiments to engage students.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of students.

Assessment and Feedback:

  • Regularly assess student progress through assignments, quizzes and practical projects.
  • Provide timely constructive feedback to help students improve their knowledge and skills.
  • Prepare and grade report cards clearly communicating student progress and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in parent‑teacher meetings to discuss student performance.

Classroom Management:

  • Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes curiosity and learning.
  • Enforce the school’s behavior management policies.
  • Create an inclusive environment where all students feel confident and encouraged to participate.

Curriculum Support:

  • Follow and deliver the school’s Science curriculum while adapting lesson plans to meet the unique needs of students.
  • Offer additional support to students who may need extra assistance including one‑on‑one tutoring or after‑school help.
  • Encourage the development of critical thinking, problem‑solving and scientific inquiry among students.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with colleagues in the Science Department and other school staff to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement of teaching practices.
  • Share best practices and resources with colleagues to enhance the overall teaching and learning experience.
