JOB PURPOSE
The purpose for this position is to implement the Departmental Sales and Distribution objectives set by the Area Manager and to supervise the day‑to‑day Sales operation in the assigned area in a responsible manner in accordance to set targets, business plan and standards. The role of a Sales Supervisor requires effective interaction with customers, strong negotiation and influencing skills, excellent supervisory skills, as well as a keen feel and eye for bringing concerns and ideas back to the respective internal stakeholders at NFPC.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute sales plans to drive product availability, visibility, and market share in the traditional trade channel.
- Coach, communicate, motivate, and support route teams in their achievement of route targets.
- Manage employee performance to ensure customer base goals are achieved; maximizing revenue and profit from existing customers, protection of company assets and safety.
- Manage route planning and area coverage to optimize time and productivity.
- Conduct regular market surveys to determine existing route plan efficiency and enhance as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records (customer base data management).
- Monitor and track sales performance, volume targets, and productivity KPIs regularly.
- Continually seek additional revenue opportunities with existing and potential new customers.
- Ensure collections are done in a proper timely manner.
- Conduct daily market visits to assess the adequacy of the sales and distribution network, study market trends and activities.
- Conduct daily assessment of sales and distribution by meeting the sales team.
- Report to management any change to current market situation and information on competitor's activities in order to generate ideas to increase sales & distribution.
- Daily, weekly, monthly and annual budgeting and planning for route teams.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree educated or relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience in sales, preferably in FMCG (Food & Beverage & Water and Dairy) with at least 2–4 years in a supervisory role.
- Market and competitive awareness.
- Strong understanding of traditional trade dynamics and retail operations.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, analytical, problem‑solving and leadership skills.
