Job summary

Drake & Scull International in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a proactive Safety Officer to support HSE compliance across MEP construction activities. The role involves monitoring daily site conditions, promoting safe work practices and conducting inspections to prevent incidents on busy sites.

You will lead toolbox talks, manage permits and PPE compliance, and support incident prevention across high-risk activities such as lifting, hot works and work at height, collaborating with engineers

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of construction/MEP site safety experience.
• Knowledge of site safety practices, permits, PPE, risk assessments, toolbox talks and incident reporting.
• Experience working with blue-collar site teams, foremen, engineers and subcontractors.
• Strong communication, observation, reporting and follow-up skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily HSE inspections across MEP work areas and report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and non-compliances.
• Support toolbox talks, safety inductions, awareness sessions and site-level HSE campaigns.
• Monitor permits, PPE compliance, housekeeping, work at height, hot works, lifting, electrical safety and access control.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and labour teams to close safety observations promptly.
• Maintain HSE records including inspection reports, toolbox attendance, observation logs, incident records and corrective actions.
• Support incident reporting, preliminary investigation and implementation of preventive actions.
• Promote a positive safety culture while supporting site progress and operational discipline.
