Job summary

A leading manufacturer of elevators is seeking a Safety Officer in Dubai to ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal standards. About the Company

Our client is a leading manufacturer of services elevators, escalators, and moving walkways globally.

About the Role

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring that all operations—whether in the field (installation, maintenance of elevators/escalators) or in office/factory settings—are conducted in compliance with health, safety, and environment (HSE/EHS) regulations and internal standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and coordinate safety audits, inspections (field sites, offices, stores), review findings, generate reports and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Conduct risk assessments (e.g., HIRARC: Hazards, Identification, Risk Assessment & Risk Control) for new projects or ongoing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company's safety policies and regulatory/local legal requirements. For example, their “Contractor Safety Requirements Protocol” specifies incident reporting, audits, etc.
  • Investigate accidents / serious incidents / near misses, determine root causes, develop and monitor corrective/preventive action plans.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics (leading/lagging indicators), collect data, analyze trends and recommend improvements.
  • Provide training to employees, subcontractors, supervisors; ensure induction for new employees; maintain safety awareness programs.
  • Ensure appropriate safety tools, equipment certifications, PPE usage, safe access and working conditions.
  • Support operations teams in embedding safety culture and behaviours — e.g., partnering with field operations to identify hazards ahead of work.
What are we looking for?
  • A diploma, bachelor’s degree (e.g., in engineering, safety science, industrial health & safety) or equivalent safety certification.
  • Several years of relevant experience — e.g., 3+ years of EHS work or field service/operations in a technical setting.
  • Experience in the elevator/escalator industry or field service operations is a plus
