Overview

Job Description: Safety Engineer – Dubai, UAE

Parsons is looking for a Safety Engineer to join our team. In this role you will ensure that safety plans are compliant with corporate policy and prevailing safety requirements for the region.

What You'll Be Doing

• Implement corporate HSE policy, HSE plan and HSE legislation and other requirements, monitor HSE performance and targets, and suggest measures for further improvement.
• Ensure client safety requirements are being fulfilled.
• Liaise with safety manager and contractors to improve and implement corporate HSE management ethics.
• Monitor contractors to ensure the implementation of applicable safety measures at site to fulfill legal and client requirements.
• Review Site Safety Plan, Emergency Plan, and other safety-related plans submitted by the contractor. Review method statements and risk analyses for all activities and monitor the effectiveness of hazard control measures. Carry out HSE inspections and report to the resident engineer for immediate rectification.
• Review and monitor contractors' monthly HSE inspections/reports.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings, set targets to address outstanding issues, and prepare/submit minutes to all concerns for follow-up.
• Review emergency preparedness and response, permit to work system, toolbox talks, and HSE statistics & records of the contractors according to company requirements.
• Review incident/accident investigation reports from contractors, report and communicate learning points, and monitor immediate actions and follow-up actions to minimize or prevent re-occurrence.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or other construction-related engineering degree with internationally approved safety courses.
• Minimum 8+ years of highway, bridge and underpass-related work experience as Safety Engineer in UAE.
• With recognized health and safety education, certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, Safety Diploma, First Aid, Fire Safety, etc.
• Working knowledge of Federal Laws, Dubai Municipality Code of Construction Safety Practice, Technical Guidelines, RTA Circulars and Work Zone Traffic Management Manual.
• Able to attend physical interviews in UAE.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Audit ISO qualifications (ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015) or training in UAE.
