Job summary

Forsyth Barnes is seeking a highly capable Rust Engineer to join an international engineering team in Abu Dhabi. The role centers on high-availability, low-latency backend services for core lending systems, with emphasis on AI-assisted development and scalable architectures.

You will work with a global team, applying Domain-Driven Design and microservice patterns, and focus on performance, security, and robust testing in an English-speaking environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• Strong English for technical collaboration.
• 3+ years backend experience in a high-performance language, with strong concurrency and memory management.
• Solid understanding of Domain-Driven Design and distributed systems; familiarity with PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Openness to AI-assisted coding tools and ability to craft prompts.
• Security awareness and track record of global collaboration.
• Nice-to-have: Rust ecosystem familiarity (Tokio, Serde, SQLx); Redis/Kafka; cloud-native tech.

Responsibilities

• Develop components for loan origination, risk decisioning, and ledger functionality with concurrent correctness.
• Uphold code quality through tests, peer reviews, and idiomatic Rust practices.
• Influence architectural decisions using microservices and Domain-Driven Design for scalable growth.
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling to accelerate development, testing, and debugging.
• Optimize performance to meet financial-grade SLAs by reducing memory contention.
• Collaborate with global teams in English, participating in reviews and planning.
