Job summary

Segula Technologies in Dubai is seeking a lead engineer to head bogie removal and installation activities for metropolis trains. The role includes supervising technicians, coordinating with logistics, and ensuring safety and retrofit quality on site.

Responsibilities include reporting progress, following up traction motor refurbishment when required, and closing work orders after testing. A Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is required with at least 5 years in rolling

Qualifications

• Bachelors or diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering as required.
• Minimum 5 years in rolling stock major maintenance projects.
• Experience with bogie overhaul is required; traction motor overhaul is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise team of technicians for bogie removal and installation.
• Follow up traction motor retrofit operations.
• Issue progress reports and document deviations to the RSK Lead Engineer.
• Perform post-work testing and validation; close work orders.
• Coordinate spare parts with logistic department and ensure safety rules on site.

Job description

Purpose of the Job:

To lead a team to perform bogie removal and installation and to perform traction motor refurbishment activity if required for a project metropolis trains.

Objectives

Complete the removal and installation of the bogie for 50 trains and to perform traction motor refurbishment activity if required as per the scheduled timeline.

Responsibilities:

• Issue progress reports.
• Follow up traction motor retrofit operations.
• Reports & register any deviation (failure/event) to the RSK Lead Engineer.
• Using Traction motor test bench to perform the tests required after bearing replacement.
• Lead and supervise team of technicians for removal and installation of the bogie.
• Ensure good information flow about interventions & operations within retrofit to support shift transition
• Performing post work testing and validation as necessary.
• Close the Work orders for all work carried out.
• Report any damage or shortage of parts/tools to the logistic department to request replacement part or order spares and/or consumables tools etc.
• Respect the Quality requirements for field modification deployment/Retrofit.
• Apply & enforce Client & customer EHS & security rules and processes on customer site
• Arrange the spare parts required for the activity with a proper coordination with the Storage team.

• Bachelors degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

Experience

• Minimum 5 years in similar position rolling stock major maintenance projects.
• Validated experience in maintenance of trains
• Bogie overhauling experience is required.
• Traction motor overhauling is a plus.
