Job summary

Amalgam UAE is seeking an experienced Road Safety Manager to lead road safety activities, audits, crash investigations, and risk identification across maintenance projects in Dubai. The role requires strong knowledge of Dubai RTA standards and experience with temporary traffic diversions.

The position involves coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors and site teams while mentoring junior staff and ensuring compliance with current guidelines and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/transport engineering or related field.
• 5–8+ years of road safety/traffic safety experience.
• Strong Dubai RTA experience and maintenance project exposure.
• Experience with RSA audits and crash investigations.
• Knowledge of RTA standards, guidelines and procedures.
• Project management and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and manage Road Safety Audits for roads, junctions, tunnels, bridges at various stages.
• Apply Safe System Approach to identify and address risks.
• Conduct road safety studies and crash site investigations.
• Review traffic safety conditions and propose practical improvements.

Job description

Amalgam UAE is seeking an experienced Road Safety Manager for an urgent position supporting road and maintenance projects in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing road safety activities, conducting safety audits, investigating crash sites, and identifying risks across various infrastructure projects.

This position will primarily support RTA Maintenance Projects and requires strong knowledge of Dubai RTA standards, procedures, and road safety practices. Candidates with substantial Dubai RTA experience, particularly in road safety, temporary traffic diversions, and traffic management, will be highly preferred.

The role also involves coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and site teams while managing road safety-related projects and providing guidance to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct and manage Road Safety Audits (RSA) for roads, junctions, underpasses, tunnels, bridges, and other infrastructure at different project stages.
• Apply the Safe System Approach to identify and address road safety risks.
• Conduct road safety studies and crash site investigations.
• Review traffic safety conditions, identify high-risk locations, and provide practical recommendations.
• Manage road safety-related projects and coordinate their implementation.
• Lead and participate in road safety reviews from concept design through detailed design and implementation stages.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and site teams on road safety matters.
• Guide and mentor junior staff involved in road safety activities.
• Review temporary traffic diversions, traffic management, and road safety arrangements for maintenance works.
• Ensure road safety practices follow current standards, guidelines, and industry best practices.

Requirements:

• 5–8+ years of relevant experience in Road Safety or Traffic Safety.
• Strong Dubai RTA experience is highly important.
• Experience working on RTA Maintenance Projects.
• Good experience conducting Traffic Safety Audits (RSA) and site visits.
• Strong experience in crash site investigations.
• Experience with temporary traffic diversions and traffic management.
• Good knowledge of RTA standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Project management and coordination experience.
• UAE/Dubai road and maintenance project experience is preferred.
