Job summary

WSP is seeking a Road Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi team, supporting the design and delivery of major transportation projects across the UAE. The successful candidate will contribute to planning, geometric design, coordination, and technical delivery of roads and highway projects with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires 5–10 years of road design experience, strong knowledge of geometric design principles, and proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5-10 years of experience in road and highway design projects.
• Experience delivering transportation, roads and infrastructure projects in consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of geometric road design principles and highway standards.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD; familiarity with Abu Dhabi/UAE standards.

Responsibilities

• Undertake geometric design and technical delivery of roads, highways, interchanges, and transportation infrastructure projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, design drawings, and project documentation.
• Develop concept, preliminary, and detailed road designs per project requirements and standards.
• Coordinate with utilities, drainage, structures, and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure designs comply with local authority requirements and international design standards.
• Support the preparation of design reports, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Perform road alignment design, corridor studies, junction layouts, and cross-section development.
• Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and providing practical engineering solutions.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and project stakeholders throughout delivery.
• Support project managers in achieving objectives, schedules, and quality standards.
• Contribute to value engineering initiatives and process improvements.
