Risk Engineer

Job Description

Parsons is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Risk Engineer to join our team, to provide support as a Risk subject matter expert for identifying and mitigating risks during the project lifecycle.

This is an exciting role where the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting bid teams in the identification of risks and related mitigation strategies. This role requires a high level of analytical thinking, understanding of key engineering principles and the ability to manage the risk reviews for multiple tenders concurrently.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct Risk Assessments:
    • Perform risk assessments for tenders and other business activities.
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive risk evaluation.
  2. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all risk assessments.
  3. Continuous Improvement:
    • Support and openly share all knowledge acquired during risk assessments to improve the teams experience, identification and mitigation of material risks.
    • Recommend and implement improvements to the risk and ethics management processes.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  4. Training:
    • Provides guidance and training on risk management principles, techniques, and best practices.
    • Promotes a strong risk-aware culture and a proactive risk management mindset within the project team and stakeholders.
  5. Continuous Improvement:
    • Support and openly share all knowledge acquired during risk assessments to improve the teams experience, identification and mitigation of material risks.
    • Recommend and implement improvements to the risk and ethics management processes.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  6. Other support as may be requested to support the overall function.
Education & Specific Role Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required.
  • Additional qualifications in Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related technical field desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in risk management or a related area.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and risk management software.
  • Certification in risk management is a plus.
Skills / Competencies
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills .
  • GCC experience desirable.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good business judgment.
  • Solid understanding of the challenges of working in a multicultural environment.
  • Regional travel is expected.
