Key Responsibilities

• Support riggers with daily rigging, slinging and lifting preparation activities on site.
• Assist in ensuring loads and equipment are lifted, moved and set correctly with a strong focus on safety.
• Help select suitable rigging equipment based on load requirements and instructions from the rigger or supervisor.
• Inspect rigging equipment before use and report any faulty or unsafe items immediately.
• Move rigging tools and lifting accessories to the work area and return them to the store after each shift.
• Keep rigging stores clean, tidy and properly arranged to support safe and efficient operations.
• Assist supervisors, foremen and riggers with monthly color coding of lifting equipment.
• Support work at heights and MEWP‑related activities while following safe work procedures.
• Help assess loads and prepare the correct equipment for each lifting task.
• Assist with housekeeping on site and inside rigging storage areas.
• Work as part of the lifting team to keep operations smooth, organized and on schedule.
• Follow safety instructions, site procedures and equipment handling requirements at all times.

Ideal Profile

• Rigging certificate is required.
• Around 3 years of experience as a Rigger Assistant, Rigger Helper or similar lifting support role.
• Grade 10 certification is preferred.
• Red Seal certification is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of rigging equipment, slinging support and lifting safety practices.
• Able to inspect lifting gear visually and identify obvious damage or unsafe equipment.
• Comfortable working at heights and supporting MEWP‑related activities when required.
• Physically fit for site‑based work, equipment movement and outdoor construction conditions.
• Good teamwork, discipline and communication skills.
• Able to follow instructions from riggers, foremen and supervisors during lifting operations.
