Job summary

Al Tayer Insignia in Dubai is seeking a Retail Stores Project Engineer to support delivery of high-end store developments. You will coordinate with project managers, architects, contractors and suppliers to ensure projects meet scope, budget and design quality.

The role requires a Civil/Architecture background with 4–6 years in project engineering or fit-out, strong coordination and English communication, and a hands-on approach to mitigate risks and drive on-time handover in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or related discipline.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in project engineering, construction, fit-out or similar project delivery environment.
• Strong understanding of project drawings, material requirements, site coordination and quality standards.
• Experience working with contractors, consultants, architects, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, assess material requirements and coordinate procurement of materials.
• Prepare detailed project programmes with milestones and delivery timelines.
• Monitor progress against plans and coordinate corrective actions.
• Liaise with architects, contractors, consultants, suppliers, clients, landlords and mall management for approvals.
• Conduct regular site visits and address technical, engineering and operational issues.
• Coordinate drawing changes, manpower requirements and other site-related matters.
• Carry out quality inspections to meet specifications and standards.
• Coordinate variations, progress billing and final invoices.
• Manage snagging, handover and close-out activities including as-built drawings and manuals.
• Ensure contractors implement and maintain health and safety procedures on site.
• Provide timely project progress updates to stakeholders.

About the Role

Are you an experienced Project Engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality retail spaces? We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive professional to support the successful delivery of retail construction and store development projects.

Working closely with project managers, architects, contractors, consultants, suppliers, landlords and mall management teams, you will help ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and in line with approved designs and quality standards.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

• Review project drawings, assess material requirements and coordinate the timely procurement of materials.
• Support the preparation of detailed project programmes, including key activities, milestones and delivery timelines.
• Monitor project progress against agreed plans and coordinate corrective actions when required.
• Liaise with architects, contractors, consultants, suppliers, clients, landlords and mall management to obtain the necessary approvals.
• Conduct regular site visits and address technical, engineering and operational issues.
• Coordinate drawing changes, additional manpower requirements and other site-related matters.
• Carry out quality inspections to ensure all works meet approved specifications and required standards.
• Coordinate project variations, progress billing and final invoices with the relevant teams.
• Manage snagging, handover and project close-out activities, including the collection of as-built drawings, manuals, keys and completion documentation.
• Ensure contractors implement and maintain the required health and safety procedures on site.
• Provide clear and timely project progress updates to internal and external stakeholders.
