Job summary

Al Tayer Insignia is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to deliver premium retail spaces. You will work with project managers, architects, contractors, suppliers and mall management to ensure safety, on-time delivery, and adherence to approved designs and quality standards.

The role emphasizes drawing reviews, material planning, programme development, site coordination, QA inspections, variations handling and thorough handover documentation, with strong stakeholder communication throughout

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or related discipline.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in project engineering, construction, fit-out or similar delivery environment.
• Strong understanding of project drawings, material requirements, site coordination and quality standards.
• Experience working with contractors, consultants, architects, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on quality.
• Effective problem-solving, planning and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, assess material requirements and coordinate timely procurement of materials.
• Prepare detailed project programmes with key activities, milestones and delivery timelines.
• Monitor project progress against plans and coordinate corrective actions.
• Liaise with architects, contractors, consultants, suppliers, clients, landlords and mall management for approvals.
• Conduct regular site visits and address technical, engineering and operational issues.
• Coordinate drawing changes, manpower requirements and other site-related matters.
• Carry out quality inspections to ensure works meet specifications and standards.
• Coordinate project variations, progress billing and final invoices.
• Manage snagging, handover and close-out activities, including as-built drawings and completion documentation.
• Ensure contractors implement and maintain health and safety procedures on site.
• Provide clear and timely project progress updates to stakeholders.

About the Role

Are you an experienced Project Engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality retail spaces? We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive professional to support the successful delivery of retail construction and store development projects.

Working closely with project managers, architects, contractors, consultants, suppliers, landlords and mall management teams, you will help ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and in line with approved designs and quality standards.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

• Review project drawings, assess material requirements and coordinate the timely procurement of materials.
• Support the preparation of detailed project programmes, including key activities, milestones and delivery timelines.
• Monitor project progress against agreed plans and coordinate corrective actions when required.
• Liaise with architects, contractors, consultants, suppliers, clients, landlords and mall management to obtain the necessary approvals.
