Job summary

voco Dubai Palm The Palm, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a Restaurant Host/Hostess to welcome guests, manage reservations and seat guests in our vibrant waterfront restaurant.

The ideal candidate has 2 years of related experience, excellent English communication, and a friendly, outgoing personality. You should be a true team player with flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2 years related experience preferred.
• Excellent communications skills in English.
• Outgoing and friendly personality with a service focus.
• Team-player mentality with flexibility for varied tasks.
• Able to work nights, weekends and holidays when required.

Responsibilities

• To ensure SOP basic standards are adhered to and service levels meet the Operations Manual.
• To take care of restaurant bookings and handle special requirements.
• To assign seating per reservations and monitor team performance.
• To welcome guests and provide buffet orientation per voco standards.
• To suggest food and beverage options to guests.
• To assist in maximizing restaurant revenue through active social media presence.
• To manage mise-en-place and daily administrative tasks for the restaurant.
• To oversee requisitioning, storage and proper use of equipment and supplies.
• To participate in daily briefings on preparation, service and menu.
• To liaise with other departments on daily operations and quality.
• To attend training on Food Safety, Fire, Hygiene, and Health & Safety.

Your day to day

You responsibilities are:

• To ensure that SOP basic standards are adhered to to achieve the level of service established in the Departmental Operations Manual.
• To take care of all restaurant bookings and prepare special requirements accordingly
• To assign table seating as per the reservation list to subordinates and to check their performance periodically.
• To welcome and greet guests as per the voco service standards
• To escort and provide buffet orientation, recommend food and beverages choices to guests
• To assist in maximizing the restaurant revenue by active social media marketing
• To handle restaurant mise-en-place such as preparing buffet tags, printing menus, and other administrative tasks required for restaurant daily operational
• To assist in controlling the requisitioning, storage, and careful use of all operating equipment and supplies.
• To attend daily briefing with the associates on preparation, service and menu.
• To liaise with the supporting departments on daily operation and quality.
• To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned.
• To attend all training sessions/ programmers that are requested by the Hotel’s Management ton Food Safety, Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.

What we need from you

• 2 years related experience in same capacity
• Excellent communications skills, English is a must
• A naturally outgoing and friendly personality with a passion for service excellence to consistently deliver and demonstrate voco™ service standards
• A true “team-player” mentality and flexible attitude towards a diverse set of tasks
• Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
