Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi seeks a detail-oriented Resident Engineer - Enabling Works to lead on-site supervision of site preparation, temporary works, and utility installations, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.

You will coordinate multiple trades, maintain comprehensive site reports, monitor progress against timelines and budgets, enforce HSE, and resolve on-site issues to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Masters degree preferred.
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in building engineering with a focus on managing large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and construction documents.
• Experience with enabling works site preparation and temporary works execution.
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Experience working on projects in the Middle East region.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all enabling works activities including site preparation, temporary structures and utility installations.
• Inspect and verify that all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive site reports, daily logs and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with multiple trades and contractors to ensure efficient workflow and minimize delays.
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential safety hazards or compliance issues.
• Analyze construction methodologies and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage communication between the project team, contractors and stakeholders.
• Monitor and track project progress against timelines and budgets.
• Ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) protocols and local regulations.
• Resolve on-site technical issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Maintain organized records of all site activities, materials and equipment.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical input on enabling works progress.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Resident Engineer - Enabling Works to join our team in Abu Dhabi United Arab this role you will serve as the on-site engineering representative responsible for overseeing and coordinating all enabling works activities. You will ensure that preliminary construction phases site preparation and temporary works are executed efficiently safely and in compliance with project specifications and local regulations. This position requires a professional who can manage multiple stakeholders maintain meticulous documentation and make analytical decisions to keep projects on schedule and within quality standards.
