Job summary

KEO International is seeking a Resident Engineer in Abu Dhabi to lead on-site construction supervision for a prestigious waterfront residential development. You will oversee daily activities, ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and safety standards, and act as the main site liaison with contractors and design teams.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in civil engineering with consultancy or supervision experience on large-scale projects, including villas, hospitality or premium

Qualifications

  • At least 15 years of work experience in civil engineering or related supervision roles.
  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • Experience with large-scale luxury or premium residential/mixed-use developments is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day construction supervision activities per approved drawings, specs, and contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with discipline engineers, contractors and sub-contractors to resolve technical issues.
  • Monitor quality, safety, environmental requirements and compliance with project procedures.
  • Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and maintain project documentation.
  • Support handover, snagging and defects liability activities.

Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Resident Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in Abu Dhabi, supporting the delivery of a prestigious waterfront residential development comprising luxury villas and premium residential communities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day construction supervision activities, ensuring works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, quality standards, safety requirements and project objectives.

Working as part of the Consultant supervision team, the Resident Engineer will act as the primary site representative, coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, design teams and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery from construction through to handover.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering luxury residential, villa, waterfront, hospitality or large-scale mixed-use developments within a consultancy supervision environment.

The RE will be responsible for managing the technical and engineering aspects of the project. You will ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The RE will supervise day-to-day construction activities, ensuring adherence to design, specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

We envisage success in this role to include:

Construction Supervision
  • Managing daily site supervision activities and ensure construction works are executed in accordance with approved IFC documentation, specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact between the Consultant, Contractor, Client and project stakeholders.
  • Monitoring contractor performance, progress, workmanship and compliance with project requirements.
  • Conducting regular site inspections and ensure works are delivered to the required quality standards.
  • Reviewing construction activities, identify issues and coordinate timely resolution.
  • Ensuring compliance with approved method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs) and project procedures.
  • Monitoring site activities to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
Technical Coordination
  • Coordinating with discipline engineers, contractors and specialist subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
  • Reviewing contractor submissions including shop drawings, material approvals, RFIs and technical proposals.
  • Ensuring construction activities align with approved design intent.
  • Reviewing and respond to technical queries and site instructions.
  • Coordinating inspections, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Supporting resolution of design changes, variations and construction challenges.
Quality & Compliance
  • Monitoring contractor compliance with project specifications, quality standards and approved documentation.
  • Reviewing inspection requests, test results, non-conformance reports and corrective actions.
  • Ensuring defects and outstanding works are identified, recorded and closed.
  • Supporting the QA/QC team in maintaining project quality standards.
  • Monitoring material approvals, workmanship and installation quality.
  • Ensuring accurate site records are maintained throughout construction.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
  • Monitoring contractor progress against approved programmes and milestones.
  • Attending progress meetings and provide updates on construction status, risks and issues.
  • Preparing daily site reports, progress reports and technical observations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of inspections, instructions, approvals and project correspondence.
  • Supporting project completion, handover, snagging and Defects Liability Period activities.
Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include at least 15 years work experience partnered with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.

Experience in large community buildings projects in UAE will be preferred.

Strong consultancy, PMC or supervision consultant experience preferred.

Experience delivering luxury villas, waterfront residential, hospitality or premium mixed-use developments.
