MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Have a thorough knowledge of the entire hotel services and facilities.
- Answer inquiries regarding room rates, outlets, and room locations.
- Be fully familiar with all aspects of the reservation systems.
- Handle all reservation requests using good listening and communication skills to secure necessary information.
- Post advance deposits and keep accurate records of deposits.
- Process rooming lists and group blocks, indicating special requests and billing procedures.
- File and process reservation correspondence, ensuring all files are current and organized.
- Understand the functions of Front Desk, Sales, and Accounts departments and their relation to Reservations.
- Adhere to hotel policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on rate changes and group inquiries.
- Complete daily shift tasks and assist colleagues as needed.
- Monitor inventory and room availability throughout the day.
- Understand departmental goals and projections for average rate and occupancy.
- Accurately accommodate and document special requests.
- Determine the most suitable room type to meet guest needs and optimize revenue.
- Explain guarantee and cancellation policies to guests.
- Describe room features and promote amenities to guests.
- Utilize sales techniques to assist guests with reservations, personalize calls, and suggest alternatives or sister properties.
- Respond to guest questions about property facilities, services, hours of operation, rates, and promotions.
- Assign confirmation/cancellation numbers and communicate these clearly to guests, offering email or fax options.
- Identify guest reservation needs through open-ended questions.
- Apply upselling techniques to maximize revenue.
- Recognize repeat guests using appropriate codes.
- Perform other duties as requested by management, including assistance with large events or hotel functions.
- Participate in tasks for new openings and other reasonable assignments.

Qualifications :
Minimum one year of experience as a Receptionist or Reservation Agent in a 5-star hotel and a high school diploma.
