Job summary

The University of Sharjah's Research Institute for Medical and Health Sciences (RIMHS) invites a Research Assistant to join its health services research group. You will support multidisciplinary teams across public health, pharmacy practice and health services to plan, coordinate and contribute to research projects.

The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree in public health or pharmacy practice, is proficient in statistical analysis and data management, and communicates effectively in English

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in public health, pharmacy practice or related field.
• Expertise in statistical data analysis and data management.
• Excellent English oral and written communication; Arabic preferred.
• Excellent organizational, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work proactively and independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in project management and ensure timely milestones.
• Prepare drafts of ethical approvals and grant plans.
• Draft research reports for publication.
• Contribute to field surveys and data collection; administer surveys and interviews.
• Lead data management and cleaning of datasets.

Job Purpose

The Research Institute for Medical and Health Sciences RIMHS is currently recruiting a research assistant to join the improving healthcare and medicine use research group and contribute to its research activities in health services research and practice-based research We are looking to appoint a suitable candidate with training experience and achievements in public health and health services research The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary research environment consisting of health services public health and pharmacy practice researchers The successful candidate will help plan support coordinate and contribute to health services and practice-based research projects

Main accountabilities amp expectations

The responsibilities of the research assistant will include and will not be limited to Assist in project management Collaborate and work effectively with faculty staff and project coordinators to ensure the timely delivery of key project milestones and high-quality outputs Prepare drafts of research ethical approvalsPrepare drafts of research plans for grant applicationsPrepare drafts of research reports for publicationContribute to field surveys and interview guides and administration of surveys and qualitative data collection i e interviews focus groups Develop modify and update data collection tools and software for different projects Lead on the data management and cleaning of datasets Analyze cross-sectional data under faculty supervision Produce statistical outputs tables and visualizations of findings Develop and deliver both written and visual outputs that are appropriate for different stakeholders Write and draft scientific reportsAssist in the writing of academic manuscripts after data collection

Required Skills

Essential Hold a master s level degree in either public health pharmacy practice or a related fieldExpertise in statistical data analysis and data management Knowledgeable with qualitative methods data collection and analysis Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and preferably Arabic Excellent organizational teamwork and interpersonal skills Ability to work pro-actively and independently
