Job summary

TeamSnap, a remote-first sports and youth-activities platform, seeks a hands-on Backend Engineer to build and optimize APIs and services. You will drive technical design in ambiguous areas and mentor engineers to raise the team’s quality.

You will work with a stack including Node, TypeScript, Elixir, Ruby on Rails and SQL, collaborating with infrastructure, platform, and data teams to improve reliability, observability, and data performance across services.

Qualifications

• Hands-on backend engineering experience required.
• Skilled in building scalable systems with service-oriented and event-driven patterns.
• Proficient with a stack including Node, TypeScript, Elixir, Ruby/Rails and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve APIs and services.
• Reason through production issues across the system.
• Lead technical design in ambiguous areas.
• Mentor engineers and raise the quality bar across the team.
• Shape the technical foundation of backend systems, APIs, services, data performance, reliability, and observability.
