Job summary

Dead Robot seeks a skilled translator to translate software strings, documentation, and tenders from English to Arabic and back, ensuring cultural and linguistic accuracy for the Dubai market.

You will work remotely initially, with a potential relocation to our main office in Dubai. The role emphasizes localization, QA, terminology management, and collaboration with implementation and support teams to deliver consistent product experiences.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
• Experience translating from American English to Arabic strongly preferred.
• Ability to ensure translation maintains appropriate feeling, tone, and style.
• Familiarity with CAT tools preferred.
• Experience with localization and internationalization.
• Excellent knowledge of structural aspects of the language (syntax, semantics, phonology, phonetics).

Responsibilities

• Hands-on translation and adaptation of speech strings into Arabic, along with other software products as needed.
• Utilizing internal tools to identify changes with localization impact.
• Helping to fine-tune Text-to-Speech output.
• Identifying tools and process enhancements.
• Collaborating with the creative team to propose new use cases and ensure product consistency for the target market.
• Translate the company’s business documents from English to Arabic and vice versa while maintaining meaning.
• Proofread and edit translations to ensure accuracy and consistency with business cultures.
• Check translations of technical terms to maintain consistency.
• Conduct simultaneous translations in business conferences and negotiations.
• Accompany clients for negotiations and provide translation services with sensitivity to different backgrounds.
• Proofread for grammar, tone, and writing style and provide feedback on highly technical documents.
• Work with Foreign Credential Evaluator to translate credential documents into English.
• Compile terminology for education-related document translation.
• Research background material to translate difficult terms.
• Provide certified translations of marriage and birth certificates and other documents.
