Role Context The Relationship Manager - Business Banking will manage and develop a portfolio of corporate and commercial financing customers while supporting revenue growth, credit quality, limit utilization, and customer retention. The role requires a balanced focus on relationship depth, new business acquisition, credit application quality, risk monitoring, cross-selling, and service turnaround. The selected candidate will work closely with credit, credit administration, customer service, trade finance, global transaction banking, foreign exchange, and other internal teams to structure banking solutions that match customer needs and bank policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide customers with accurate and timely information on banking products, financing solutions, trade finance, real estate finance, and working capital options.
  • Actively follow up on sales leads and business prospects within designated market segments.
  • Plan visits to existing and prospective clients in coordination with global transaction banking, foreign exchange, and product teams.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities and forward suitable leads to relevant departments across the bank.
  • Prepare credit applications, analyze financial statements, conduct due diligence, and submit complete credit packages for approval.
  • Ensure credit applications for new clients and renewals for existing clients are prepared in line with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess business and financial risks by reviewing company performance, competitive position, industry conditions, management quality, and financial profile.
  • Identify early warning signals in account conduct and coordinate timely action for overdue loans or deteriorating relationships.
  • Proactively manage assigned portfolio risk by ensuring timely account renewals within approved service standards and documentation requirements.
  • Align facility structure, pricing, and proposed limits with customer needs while maintaining compliance with business banking guidelines.
  • Monitor MIS reports related to foreign exchange, trade working capital revenues, facility utilization, and portfolio profitability.
  • Seek opportunities to increase revenue margins while maintaining responsible customer relationship practices.
  • Coordinate with customer service groups and processing units to ensure service standards and turnaround times are met.
  • Discuss credit packages with credit teams and approving authorities when clarification or additional structuring input is required.
  • Maintain close working relationships with Credit Division and Credit Administration to support smooth approval, documentation, and facility activation.
  • Review credit analysis and add strong qualitative comments to improve the quality of credit submissions.
  • Comply with internal policies, procedures, business banking standards, and regulations issued by relevant authorities.
  • Support internal audit and risk management reviews by addressing gaps and responding to audit observations within agreed deadlines.
  • Monitor potential money laundering activity and coordinate required remedial action with management and compliance teams.
