Job summary

Core Laboratories is seeking a Region Engineering Advisor to own all engineering and technical aspects of ProTechnics within an assigned regional area. You will leverage your strong engineering background in completion technology to build leadership in the oil and gas community and provide technical guidance to clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years in oil & gas required.
• Experience in completion operations and hydraulic fracturing is a plus.

Job description

The Region Engineering Advisor will be responsible for all engineering and technical aspects pertaining to ProTechnics business within an assigned regional geographic area. This position will require a highly self-motivated individual capable of building, maintaining and innovating a strong technical leadership role in the oil and gas community and within ProTechnics internally. Utilizing a strong engineering background and technical understanding of completion technology will be essential in developing, presenting and participating in the industry technical community and professional organizations/societies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviews all technical engineering reports (for example, logs, SpectraChem, etc.) and interprets, prepares and renders professional written and oral presentations on a well and/or project basis to clients.
• Provides technical support to the sales team and in direct contact with clients.
• Prepares and performs well reviews and technical advisement to clients.
• Responsible for writing, submitting for acceptance, and presenting technical writings and papers at various technical meetings, societies and forums (for example, SPE).
• Participates and is active in all technical forums in the regional area of responsibility.
• Develops and maintains a database library of technical/engineering case histories of “value-add” for dissemination to the sales team and for client presentations.
• Works directly with client asset teams to provide completion diagnostic engineering/technical support and completion optimization consultation services.
• Provides technical training and support, as the subject matter expert in plays/formations in the geographic region of responsibility, to the sales team to increase regional proficiency in understanding of specific productive horizons and plays
• Other duties may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry required.
• Specific experience in completion operations and hydraulic fracturing is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Demonstrated professional and polite demeanour required.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Business Suite) required.
• Proficiency in Spotfire and Enverus a strong plus.
• Knowledge and skill in designing and running fracture modelling software is a plus.
