Job summary

Swissotel Al Murooj Dubai is seeking an experienced Recreation Manager to supervise the day-to-day operations of the hotel's recreation facilities, including pools, gym, kids club, and sports areas. The role oversees activity programs and guest engagement.

You will lead the recreation team, conduct trainings on safety and customer service, monitor staffing and budgets, and ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards across all recreation spaces.

Qualifications

• Minimum 23 years experience in recreation hospitality or leisure operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the recreation department and activities.
• Coordinate daily activity schedules, events, and guest engagement programs.
• Lead and train recreation staff, ensure safety SOPs and service standards.
• Ensure safety, hygiene, and compliance across all recreation areas.
• Manage administration, reports, budgets, and cost-control efforts.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations & Activity Management

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the recreation department including pool gym kids clubsports areas and activity programs.
• Coordinate and execute daily activity schedules special events and guest engagement programs.
• Ensure all facilities are clean organized and ready for guest use.
• Monitor attendance ensure proper staffing levels and adjust schedules as needed.

2. Guest Service

• Provide excellent service ensuring guests feel welcomed informed and supported.
• Handle guest inquiries complaints and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
• Promote recreation programs services and special events to enhance guest experience.

3. Staff Supervision & Training

• Lead coach and motivate recreation team members to deliver high service standards.
• Conduct regular trainings on safety equipment use SOPs and customer service.
• Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Assist in hiring and onboarding of new recreation team members.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all recreation areas meet health safety and hygiene standards.
• Conduct routine inspections of pools gym equipment sports areas and kids facilities.
• Maintain accurate incident reports and ensure all safety guidelines are followed.
• Enforce hotel policies lifeguard protocols (if applicable) and emergency procedures.

5. Administration & Reporting

• Maintain activity attendance records inventory logs and maintenance checklists.
• Manage equipment requests stock levels and coordinate repairs.
• Contribute to departmental budgets and cost-control efforts.
• Prepare daily or weekly operational reports for the Rooms DivisionManager.
