Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai is seeking an RB&E Supervisor to lead the Lobby Lounge team and ensure peak service standards across all shifts. You will supervise daily operations, maintain quality and guest satisfaction, train colleagues, and engage with guests to create memorable experiences in a 5-star luxury setting on Sheikh Zayed Road.

The role reports to the Assistant Manager and requires a high school qualification with hospitality/business management qualification preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting is required or preferred.
• Strong guest service mindset with attention to detail and standards.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the outlet, ensuring smooth service and guest satisfaction.
• Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards and explain concepts to guests and staff.
• Respond to guest inquiries and resolve complaints while assisting managers as needed.
• Support POS accuracy and drive service and quality improvements.
• Train colleagues, foster teamwork, and address conflicts to maintain a positive environment.
• Engage warmly with guests, create WOW moments, and participate in regular operational meetings.

About The Job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, within the Lobby Lounge in Dubai, the Restaurants, Bars & Experiences Supervisor will oversee and personally involve all operational aspects of a particular shift to ensure all service steps are followed and guarantee every guest is delighted. The role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service, managing and developing our team, and delivering exceptional dining experience for our guests. The RB&E Supervisor reports to the Assistant Manager.

As an RB&E Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Supervise daily operations of the outlet, ensuring smooth service, monitoring standards, food quality, and guest satisfaction, while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment, and understand and explain the outlet’s concept and offerings to guests and colleagues.
• Respond proactively to guest inquiries, monitor VIP guest requirements, and handle customer complaints effectively, reporting severe issues to managers.
• Support the Restaurant/Outlet Manager in maintaining POS accuracy, identifying areas for improvement in service and quality, and ensuring proper menu presentation.
• Train colleagues, identify learning and development needs, and foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and addressing conflicts.
• Engage warmly with guests, ensure customer satisfaction, create WOW moments, and participate in regular meetings to discuss operational updates and improvements.

As An RB&E Supervisor, We Expect From You

• Holds a High School qualification or equivalent, with a Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management preferred.
• Experience as a supervisor in a high‑volume restaurant with the highest service levels, and at least 2 years’ experience working in a 5‑star luxury hotel environment.
• Demonstrates the ability to understand guest needs and deliver superior customer service, with proven ability to support management in motivating and leading a diverse team.
• Possess basic computer skills, including MS Office, and fluent verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic or other languages preferred).
• Exhibits strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with guests, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels, as well as exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Demonstrates the physical ability to stand for extended periods and the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in accordance with business requirements.
