Job Overview

The R&M Technician I is responsible for performing hands‑on inspection, maintenance, and repair of field tools. This role is essential in supporting operational readiness by refurbishing and preparing equipment for deployment in compliance with Weatherford’s standards and industry regulations. The technician will follow established safety policies, maintenance procedures, and quality systems to ensure consistent, reliable service delivery. Technicians in more senior positions may also lead work assignments, guide less experienced staff, and support troubleshooting, equipment diagnostics, and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble tools and equipment.
  • Perform testing and functional checks on tools.
  • Maintain and refurbish tools to ensure operational readiness.
  • Operate mechanical and electrical test equipment to diagnose tool conditions.
  • Use cranes, forklifts, hoists, and hand tools safely for equipment handling and movement.
  • Follow established safety protocols and company procedures during all maintenance activities.
  • Document all work performed, including inspection results, repairs, and tests.
  • Monitor inventory levels of parts and tools, assist with ordering supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to comply with safety standards.
  • Report equipment failures and coordinate repairs or replacements promptly.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis under supervision.
  • Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • In senior roles, lead daily work assignments and provide guidance to junior technicians.
