Job summary

Six Construct in Dubai is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support tendering and pre-contract activities. You will review tender documents, prepare quantity take-offs, and coordinate with estimators and project teams to ensure accuracy and alignment with contract requirements.

The role involves producing BoQ, handling 3D/BIM models, and supporting post-tender clarification and contract verification. A bachelor’s degree in a related field and familiarity with FIDIC are preferred; MRICS is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• MRICS accreditation is an advantage but not mandatory.
• 0–5 years of experience in quantity surveying or construction cost control.
• Exposure to infrastructure or marine projects.
• Experience in tendering or construction projects in the Middle East.
• Understanding of basic international contract frameworks (e.g., FIDIC) is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel; familiarity with cost estimation software (CANDY) is an advantage.
• Ability to manipulate 3D and BIM models.
• Fluent in English.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills; detail-oriented and organized; able to work under tender deadlines.

This role is highly supportive in ensuring accuracy, coordination, and consistency throughout the tendering and pre-contract process. By carefully reviewing tender documents, preparing precise quantity take-offs, assisting with post-tender clarifications, and maintaining well-organized documentation, it helps reduce risks, avoid costly discrepancies, and ensure alignment between tender submissions and contract requirements. It also strengthens collaboration between estimators, engineers, and project teams, contributing to smoother project transitions and better overall project outcomes.

What You’ll Drive

Tender Document Review & Coordination

• Review and analyze all tender documents, including drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements, to ensure full understanding and compliance.
• Verify the completeness of received documents, prepare a comprehensive document index, and raise queries for any missing information in coordination with the Estimator.
• Identify discrepancies, scope gaps, and uncertainties, consulting with the Estimator to ensure clarity and alignment.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of overall project specifications and requirements.

Quantity Take-Off & BoQ Preparation

• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQ), where required, and submit for Estimator review and validation.
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs based on tender drawings, 3D models, and the applicable contract type (remeasured, lump sum, EPC, etc.).
• Coordinate with draftspersons to produce marked-up drawings to support detailed quantity take-offs.
• Provide reliable quantity data to materials engineers and submission engineers throughout the tender process.

Post-Tender Support & Contract Verification

• Follow up on post-tender queries, clarifications, and correspondence, providing necessary inputs to the Estimator.
• Review contract documents upon project award to ensure alignment with tender-stage submissions and related communications.
• Support Estimators in preparing for project award kick-off meetings.
• Assist in addressing quantity-related queries raised by the project site team.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Organize and upload quantity take-off workbooks, cost sheets, and comparison sheets into the designated system to ensure proper documentation, traceability, and knowledge retention.

Qualifications

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Possess professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS or equivalent) as an advantage but not mandatory.
• Have 0–5 years of experience in quantity surveying or construction cost control.
• Gain exposure to infrastructure or marine projects.
• Work on tendering or construction projects in the Middle East.
• Understand basic international contract frameworks (e.g., FIDIC) as a plus.
• Review tender documents and identify scope inconsistencies with guidance.
• Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Support the preparation of WBS, Bills of Quantities (BoQ), and cost estimates.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Excel; familiarity with cost estimation software (CANDY) is an advantage.
• Manipulate 3D and BIM models.
• Communicate fluently in English.
• Apply strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Maintain attention to detail, stay organized, and work effectively under tender deadlines.
