Your Role
As Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical), you will responsible for quantity take-offs, cost control, progress valuation, variation management, subcontract administration, and commercial monitoring of mechanical works. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Planning, and Commercial teams to support successful project delivery while ensuring contractual compliance and maximizing project profitability.
Quantity Take-Offs & Measurement
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs based on approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Verify quantities for Piping systems, Tanks and tankage, Pressure vessels, Static and rotating equipment, HVAC systems, Firefighting systems, Utility networks, Structural steel installations.
- Maintain quantity tracking registers and measurement records.
- Support preparation and review of Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
Cost Control & Budget Monitoring
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
- Support cost forecasting, reporting, and commercial reviews.
- Identify cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in project financial performance analysis.
Progress Measurement & Valuation
- Measure completed works for monthly valuations.
- Prepare supporting documentation for payment applications.
- Verify subcontractor progress claims and payment valuations.
- Coordinate billing requirements with Planning and Finance teams.
Variations & Claims Management
- Assess quantity and cost impacts of change orders and variations.
- Prepare and submit variation documentation.
- Support claims preparation and Extension of Time (EOT) submissions.
- Maintain variation and claims registers.
- Assist in tender preparation and commercial submissions.
- Review supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Support commercial evaluations and bid analysis.
- Coordinate with Estimation and Procurement teams.
Contract Administration
- Review contract documentation and commercial obligations.
- Support subcontract administration activities.
- Monitor compliance with contractual milestones and payment terms.
- Assist in final account preparation and settlements.
Stakeholder Management & Reporting
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Participate in commercial and project review meetings.
- Prepare commercial reports, cost reports, and quantity records.
- Ensure accurate documentation within ERP and document management systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned programs.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- 6-8+ years of experience in Quantity Surveying and Commercial functions within Mechanical Construction projects.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in: Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial, Power, Marine, EPC, Infrastructure Projects
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, Or a related discipline
